I’ve been hard at work! Most of said work is not yet scanned, but I have some in-progress pictures of a maquette I’ve been doing for Character Design. Let’s take a look.

Well, I didn’t start documenting this until almost halfway through, but hey. Look, it’s Ms. Erin Patterson, Sasquatch Hunter! I did the basic form and then worked my way from the bottom up refining. How about those boots?

Now she has her adventurin’ vest on. It is presumably packed with ammo and granola bars.

At the bottom there is a splayed out bigfoot mask to be grasped it frustration. At the top is a frustrated face.

Almost final Erin. She still needs hands, but she does have props now. Would you believe that the only 1/6 scale guns Toys R Us has are WWII sub-machine guns? Because it’s true, no matter what the back of that box might advertise. So I had to make my own.

That knife? That knife is sharp and serrated. I made a hunting knife tonight.

Those were over the course of three days, I think. Tomorrow I’ll be working on those tricky fingers. I suppose I’ll also scan my other work.

Hmm, I feel like there ought to be some more bloggin-talk with this. Ahem.

Jacques here has been bouncing around in this head of mine for a while as my idea of the standard space-faring adventurer type. The gist of this plot was part of my final assignment for Scripting, which was nearly a year ago at this point. We had to send off submissions, optionally with sample pages. I didn’t even get a rejection letter for this one. However, I’m quite fond of the whole idea, so when I was thinking of summer projects to keep me from atrophying into a slack-jawed pink pile, Jacques was at the top of my list. I’m not much of one for self-promotion, which I know is terrible in this line of work, but hopefully with a finished product (or polished sample at least) I can make it easier on myself to impress an editor somewhere. And that’s how this zero issue came to be.

Anyway, dear reader, hopefully you enjoy this story as much as I do.
